Mike Pole-Baker

Mike Pole-Baker MCSP MSc

Mike qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1996 and worked for the NHS for several years before moving to the private sector in 2001. He went on to work in industry where his main focus was on work related issues including the treatment of repetitive strain, back and neck problems and undertaking workstation and display screen equipment (DSE) assessments.
Mike completed his Masters degree in Orthopaedic Medicine in 2003 and now works part time at Kendal Physiotherapy Centre and part time for the NHS. At the physiotherapy centre he treats people with a wide range of musculo-skeletal conditions, including sports injuries. He uses an eclectic approach incorporating manual and exercise therapies with electrotherapy and acupuncture.
He works for the NHS as an extended scope practitioner. This involves working alongside Orthopaedic consultants to assess patients with ongoing musculo-skeletal complaints who may require further investigations such as scans or blood tests. He also holds a diploma in injection therapy, which is a useful adjunct for the conditions which require the administration of steroids or Hyalgan.
