Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

About TCM Acupuncture
  • TCM Acupuncture is a safe, painless and relaxing treatment which stimulates your body's own capacity to restore health, vitality and freedom from pain.
  • Using skills such as tongue and pulse diagnosis, TCM Acupuncture provides you with a detailed overall assessment of your health and teaches you how you can best support you own body.
  • The TCM model of medicine offers you a complete system of healthcare which complements Western Medicine and provides a balanced route to recovery.

Why choose TCM Acupuncture?

For general health: TCM Acupuncture complements all other treatments at the Kendal Physiotherapy Centre by being able to address underlying health niggles, illnesses or stresses which may be compromising the efficiency of your body.

For local pain or injury: By increasing the blood and lymph flow to a site of injury or pain, Acupuncture can help reduce inflammation and swelling and increase rate of repair.

For muscular tightness: Acupuncture can quickly and directly help release tight and 'knotted' fibres along muscle pathways, enabling fuel and oxygen to flow more effectively into that area.

For general muscular and joint health: TCM Acupuncture can help promote overall efficient absorption, transformation and transportation of food and fluids, stimulating your body to provide good nutrition and lubrication for strength and flexibility in your joints and muscles.

What is TCM Acupuncture good at treating?
The World Health Organisation recommends Acupuncture for musculoskeletal, respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological, mouth and eye problems.

TCM Acupuncture is widely used to help muscular tension, long term aches and pains, frozen shoulder, sciatica, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, low energy, low immunity, depression, anxiety, stress, insomnia, addictions, asthma, hay fever, headaches, digestive problems, gynaecological problems, urinary problems and ME/diabetes management. TCM Acupuncture is also widely used for health in pregnancy, to support IVF treatments, and for facial revitalisation as a natural alternative to botox and surgery. "One of the things I absolutely love to do is teach people how to look after themselves better. Chinese Medicine has been around for over two thousand years and provides us with a wealth of knowledge about how to stay healthy and prevent disease…and it's often common sense knowledge which we seem to have forgotten in our fast busy Western lives. It really is a system of healthcare which still works and is relevant for us in the 21st Century."

PRICES:
£30 per treatment. Treatments can last from 45 minutes to 1 hour
£150 for a course of 6 treatments booked and paid for in advance
For Facial Revitalisation charges please visit Barbara's website at www.acupuncturenorthwest.org
